What are some examples of interesting image pairs?

You can be inspired by the following examples and sources when choosing visual pairs which result with a stronger impact on the viewer:

  • You can use portrait photos of your favorite people and combine them in the same frame. For example, you can print a photo of your two children with a flip effect.
  • You can use two photos taken at different times to switch between before and after. For example, you can switch between 1 year old and 10 year old photos of your child. Or you can switch between summer and fall photos of a place.
  • You can use your wit and humor, contrasting situations, e.g. happy, angry facial expressions, summer/winter views of the same place, pleasant/irritating objects shifting from one to the other…
  • You can have the design convey a written message; you can have two slogans or aphorisms alternate.
  • Snapchat Lens You can print image pairs obtained by using the property as lenticular images.

  • Anime GIFs offer a very rich resource, you can get inspired by anime GIFs.
  • You can print your messages and stickers used in the mobile world as lenticular stickers.
  • You can make designs using publicly available images of your favorite celebrities or stars: for example, your child and their favorite character.
  • You can make a print design using a portrait of someone you love (for example your boyfriend or your son) and an image of the football team they support.

What should I pay attention to in the images I choose?

Even if you have chosen appropriate images in terms of content and message, it is useful to pay attention to the following issues in order to get better results at the end of lenticular printing and to make each image look clearer.

Size and resolution: The size, orientation and resolution of the images should be the same or close to the same.

Human faces: If face swapping is used in images, the eyes in both images should overlap.

Not using High Contrast: There should be no areas of high contrast within images and during transitions between images. High contrast can cause ghosting.

Black and White: It is not recommended to use black or white backgrounds. However, it can be evaluated if it is found in the same areas in both images.

Use of text: If text is used, small and thin fonts should be avoided. Bold and large enough fonts should be preferred. If the text changes in the visuals, it should not overlap, but should be in different areas. As a text background, solid colors (especially white) should be avoided and patterned backgrounds should be preferred.

You can contact us if you have any questions. We can also suggest improvements to your order for better results.

How does the direction of movement affect the result?

Transition from top to bottom
Right to left transition

If your lenticular print is large enough to be viewed by hand, it is better to use the top-down direction of movement.

However, if it is used as a poster or magnet on the wall, the direction of movement should be from right to left.

What is the viewing distance?

For A4 and smaller sizes, the best effective distance can be down to hand tracking distance (approx. 25 cm).

For poster prints larger than A4, a viewing distance of more than about 1 meter will provide the best effect.
